about

A collection of demos, recorded at home between 2015 and 2017, and since'stuck in the vaults', now released for your listening pleasure. Ranging from Country, Irish folk, stadium rock and good-time pop, these unpolished gems are an insight to the creative process and of course a fun slice of a musician in his home-environment.

A little bit about the term 'Banjo Killer', this was the name given to the Dreadnought acoustic guitar when it was first developed, as it was the first acoustic to really keep up with the volume of a banjo, and subsequently put a lot of banjo players out of work! As a Martin Dreadnought features heavily on this record, it seemed like a fun title for the sessions. 'Banjo Killer' also ties in neatly to describe me and my less than adequate banjo playing!

These songs are not designed to be finished products, but rather a musical moment, the mixing is not perfect, timing is neither, but I hope the strength of the songs shine through. The only exception is the final song 'Olive Tree', which is a bonus song from the 2014 'Folkstar' sessions, and features Patrick Farrell on Double Bass, and Eddie John on Drums, Vibraphone and Hammond Organ.
